2023 Japanese Festival
Near-record crowds poured into the 2017 Japanese Festival, celebrating culture, art, food and near perfect weather. Our
Members created and staged Ikebana arrangements that filled one-half of the Orthwein Floral Display Hall. A special feature anticipated by visitors each year is the foyer/entrance exhibit created by Prof. Yoshiko Mitchell, assisted by a crew of members. Her 2017 foyer design is the first photo in the slide show, at right, of arrangements done by our members and members of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society, St. Louis Chapter.
Throughout the three-day Japanese Festival, members greeted visitors, refreshed floral arrangements, presented demonstrations, provided many photo opportunities and helped visitors create their own Ikenobo design in daily hands-on workshops.
